Hi,I did the following:
Question: Why do women obsess over fashion decisions?
Obviously it’s a lot more complicated for women than for guys. What goes through a woman’s head when she gets dressed? Why do girls go nuts about handbags? Is women’s fashion supposed to make a statement to men, or to other women?
The following is the answer:

because no matter what anyone says otherwise, the world is a fashion show.

because it makes us feel confident when we know we look good. if a woman dresses more in style/up to date then its for a woman, if its sexier than its for a man.

i am a female and i am not really into fashion i wear whats is comfortable for me and i flirt with my eyes , i always thought guys liked what was underneath our clothes better than the clothes themselves silly me

Women do it for several reasons. One is for themselves. Women just enjoy looking good, and another is for the guys. Guys can say what they want, but truthfully, they tend to like looking at a woman who dresses nice.

I don’t understand the handbag thing myself. If I carry one, I’ll just accidently leave it somewhere, so I have to carry a wallet and stash it in my deepest pocket.
Some days, I don’t really think about what I’m going to wear. But on the days that I do think about it, I consider:
1. The occassion. I wouldn’t wear a black velvet choker out to lunch, but if I was headed for Open Mic Night at some arts collective, then sure.
2. Male Friends. I will dress better if I anticipate seeing male friends, even if I’m not attracted to them. This is because men are visual creatures and they’re easier to interact with when you have their attention/approval. If something goes wrong (traffic jam, they get into an argument/fight with someone) it is much easier to calm them down if I’m looking cute. If the conversation lags, I can always tell a story (even if it isn’t really exciting) and they’ll listen anyway. Also, despite not being attracted to my guy friends, I enjoy their company and I want them to hang out with me again. A *little* bit of attraction can help a friendship. BUT I don’t dress all “sexy” or anything. I don’t want them falling for me! That just gets people hurt.
3. Males I’m Attracted To. This is hard! On one hand, a girl wants to dress with a little something *extra* but must look occassion-appropriate and never desperate. The idea is to look “accidently great”. For example–I might wear something super-casual (almost ratty), like an oversized army jacket over a tight, cut-off tank top that flatters my waistline. Then wear my best jeans. My secret weapons (i.e. little red dress, mini skirt, black knee-high boots) are only for social occassions and are intended [A.] For a guy I’m actually dating who won’t think I’m pathetic for trying to impress him, or [B.] For when I want to “accidently” get someone’s attention. But only at in the right setting! I wouldn’t go to the grocery store dressed like that!
4. Women. I won’t dress provocatively around their boyfriends. It is possible that other females might dress well to show their status to other women–as a way of saying, “I’m part of a cool crowd. You want to be my friend, not my enemy.” But I’ve never done that because I tend to naturally get along with other females.
Hope this helped!
