I mean there has to be a reason why society doesn’t want me wearing my mother’s clothes. What are the main differences between what teens like me wear and what more mature women like my mom wear?

Teen clothes are more revealing in general, and have a general “youth” look about them.

Womens’ clothing is more sophisticated and not as youthful or fun as teen clothes.

Answer by Catwoman
wear your mom’s clothes! who cares about what society wants! Yeah, youth is usually more colorful and doesn’t cover as much. Womens sizes are usually referred to as plus sizes.

The style. Women’s fashion doesn’t really have the same interest in the style of teens fashion. But some clothing pieces do. Different styles.

Since a lot of women have had kids and have had a baby, they often wear clothing to hold in their belly and they wear high-waisted jeans as well as tops with more room in the bust. Teens tend to wear more printed clothing and more tees, also more casual apparel in general but women wear comfort clothing (Gap basic tops or yoga pants) when around the house hanging out and business clothing at work. I mean, teens don’t wear suits to school! LOL. Also, women focus more on affordable clothing because they are not trying so hard to impress everyone, especially if they already have a family. However, women in the entertainment industry will work especially hard to impress people and wear only designer clothing or whatever. It all depends on the woman because some women actually do wear teen clothing, especially if they are in their twenties. That’s just my opinion. =D

I think is mostly the fit, and some of the styles.

Usually teeneagers wear tighter fit as well as a bit more revealing. Where as women’s clothing still has a very feminine fit, is not skin tight.

Also like other users said teen is a bit brighter.

Women’s wardrobes have peices that are in the ranges of dressy, suit like (or buisness outfits), and casual wear. Women in style have fitted clothes, not just revealing or “short and skimpy.” ANd their clothes reflect their personality more often and they dress appropriotly for whatever occasion- at least in an ideal world.

Teens fashion ranges bassed on clique at times, so it goes from stu*y, dark, bright, short, to any look. Teens don’t look compleat or put together, their outfits don’t have balance. This is wy they are often critiqued but also why they are loved.
