Question: How could a 13 year old girl make money when she is interested in fashion design?
i am 13 and very interested in fashion design and well dont know what to do 4 money… i know i am rather young but i am trying to save up for a laptop! or something like that :) so please ideas

You could probably find some internships. You could also work in stores such as Forever21 & WetSeal, but I don’t think they let minors work there.
If you have great talent, and know how to design clothes (Designing tshirts, Sewing dresses, etc), you can find business in making them and selling them online. That’s probably very hard to manage though.

I don’t know what else you can do. Millions of young girls are interested in fashion and would love a job where they can just give fashion advice to others.

Cool! Well can you make stuff? If you can and you have a bit of money, visit etsy.com (I’m not positive if it has to have something before or after, or if it is a .net or something, but you can just google “Etsy”) Its a great program and you can sell your items.

im 13 too and i’ve heard you like cant get a legal job til your like 14 and have like a work permit or something. im having the like same problem too ha, so until your like 14 i’d stick to just like drawing them up i guess.

Why not make clothes for people you know/meet? (You would build up more custom by recommendation from these people.) Design and make clothes for them personally. All people are of different build, complexion, lifestyle, tastes, personality etc. Off the rack clothes don’t cater to everybody in all of these ways. Your niche could be to make clothes to suit individuals.

Better than working in an “off-the-rack” clothing store or fixing coffee at a design house.

Of course, you have to learn the skills and knowledge involved in design, maiking, fitting, fabric, colour, body types etc etc. But it would be good learn while doing it if you can start off simply and build on it. you probably won’t not successful starting off (depending on what you can already do now), so you would need to work on “guinea pigs” for no charge af first.

I’m currently a size 10 (UK) and I find it very difficult to find fashionable shoes in my size that are not ugly, flats or that are ridiculously expensive.

I want to create an affordable fashion shoe line for women who wear a size 8-12, that will be available both online and on the high street.

mabey you can go to Nike and enter a contest and put some of your designs in it. it may be endorsed by Nike but from that you can launch your own carer or you can open a little shoe store and from that turn it into a franchise
