yes its very expensive for anybody to study in the states with out of state tuition. I’m asian and I studied in the states so I know the cost of tuition, living, etc etc.
It is especially expensive if you study in new york, because rent, food, and everything else there is way more expensive then other states.
Tuition for FIT – $5570 / semester (newest tuition) so thats $11140 per year. Books around $1500 / semester.
If you want decent aparment, it will cost from $1000-2000 per month
Food will cost you $20 per meal for almost the cheapest, unless you eat burgers. But normally it will cost on average $30-40 per meal if you go out with friends, most of the times more.
Going to FIT won’t guarantee you will be the next big fashion designer, as everyone who goes there wants to be one. But it will up your chances of becoming one.
Anyways, in conclusion, it is safe to say your tuition + living costs will be at the very least $40,000 per year.
dear if its fashion, its always expensive. Everything involving the wonders of art and creativity is always expensive. Expecially in new york! But if its your dream, and you’re sure that being there can really bring you to success, then dont think too much about the money. money can come but that opportunity isnt really a 24/7.
