The following is the answer:

Answer by Cocobelle
Generally speaking, no there is no minimum age people take their small children to them ie age 5. If you entererd a contest and it specifies you need to be over 18 unfortunately you won’t be allowed in. Also, you won’t get in on normal terms unless you are well known, high up in the industry like editors or stylists for big publications, famous or the best customers.
Good luck either way.

What are some good tips on what to wear as well as present myself if i want to start to dress like a Lolita girl ?? I am a guy but i love the look and want to start to dress like one but not sure where to begin or what good shops there are. Oh and yes i am serious

The answer in the following:

Answer by Lily
(Forgive me for the TL;DR)
In spite of it being April Fool’s Day in the U.S., there are some guys who do participate in collecting and buying the fashion, but there are others who prefer the male counterparts, like Dandy, Kodona/Oujii style, etc.. First thing’s first:

There isn’t such thing as acting like a lolita. To most people who know what it is, lolita is just a fashion. There are other who might argue that lolita is a life style (I’m not one of them, so I can’t really describe how that goes). It’s not like you’re cosplaying, which involves portraying a character. Most lolitas like to wear the fashion, but carry on with their normal lives – school, (sometimes) work, watch their favorite sitcoms/sports events, hanging out at the pub with their friends, etc. There are times when wearing the pretty clothes may invoke a slight change of behavior – whether in feeling a little more polite than their usually are, feeling more cautious about protection in an urban area, etc. What I’m saying is, if you want to drink tea and cakes every day while being sugary sweet to everyone regarding the situation, that’s all fine and dandy – but if that doesn’t fly with you, just be yourself. A general rule for lolitas and non-lolitas (”normal folk” and the like) is to be polite when it’s needed.

You can just use the term, lolita, by the way; lolita girl is a bit much and often refers to the novel, persona, or anime genre.

Before I go on, you need to understand that lolita dresses on girls will generally fit differently on guys; understanding this will help you find a way to fit into the dresses.

I don’t know how you look like and neither did you post any measurements, so I can’t truly help you with how to dress in lolita because lolita is generally made for a female figure, which by comparison, is totally different to a guy’s. The male torso is generally longer and narrower (unless you’re pair shaped). Girls generally have a shorter torso, which varies in different shapes. Lolita dresses/skirts/jumper skirts generally sit on the waistline. For both genders, it’s where the crease of your elbows line up to your torso. The difference is that most girl’s waist lines are defined as the narrowest part of her torso – it should be right above or at her bellybutton, depending on her body type. Be sure to take proper measurements before buying (get someone like a tailor to do it for you and have it written down for yourself someplace) – this is a huge tips for lolitas of all genders.

There are a LOT of internet and print material out there that should help you learn how to cross dress without looking like a drag queen. Perhaps this is for a show, but when it comes to lolita, most veterans recommend looking natural – or at least go light on the make up. Then again, this advice may not always work well for guys, especially if they happen to have a lot of masculine qualities. You may have to blend a bit of both advice of creating a drag queen techniques (there’s a cool tip on making your nose look thinner on youtube – pixiwoo’s Drag Make up tutorial), but also the techniques of using every day make up for females – like using soft color palettes and neutral lip shades, rather than heavy theatre make up). Aside of that, learn about what colors will look good on your skin, against it (when it comes to clothing), and what kinds of make up/skin care is good for your skin condition. Feel free to ask the people at MAC, The Body Shop, or other cosmetic carriers; they generally do free make overs and consultations.
Back on the topic of clothing, you may want to learn about the fashion if you haven’t already. It’s always good to know what you’re getting into before you do.

http://fyeahlolita.blogspot.com/2009/10/how-to-avoid-being-ita.html

It’s a lot of reading material (there’s a lot more where that came from) and it may be a bit daunting to see so much stuff out there to learn (you’ll probably have a lot more questions later than when you started), but do take your time and have these links book marked. When it comes to trying out something new, sometimes reading about it can only go a long way; knowing about the fashion, where to buy, and how to coordinate takes practice. There isn’t a specific look when it comes to lolita: just get the basics down, and eventually, you can put your own flair into it.

Question: Does the power exist ultimately for women to force the fashion industry to change?
it’s existing body type, and size standards? Since most women can’t fit into the scimpy clothing on the runway they can’t be selling most of their high-lighted articles right?
Therefore it would have to be the clothing that they sell at more normal sizes that carry their brand label that allows them to stay in business. Or am I missing something? If women stopped patronizing fashion designers who use emaciated models until they started putting normal sized women on the runway couldn’t women use their purchasing power to alter the fashion industry’s methods?

The answer in the following:

Answer by Super Ruper
Its all economics…the power of supply and demand. If the demand disappears, so will the supply.

As for the emaciated models, they are used because their bodies are perfect ‘hangers’…there is no body getting in the way of the design. And those clothes that you see on the runway are not the ones you will see in the stores…they are the ‘extreme’ examples of their collection…

Answer by alive
Two socks last time i checked america has an obesity problem. Its not surprise most women cant fit into these clothes. I think the fashion industry is putting out good sized models now. Not too fat or skinny.

Answer by BuyTheWay
Beautiful dream!

Answer by Sasafras
The power does exist but we could never get everybody on board.

Answer by hugo
Its all about the money, women can definitely alter the fashion industry’s methods. Supply and demand, they will sell what women want.

Answer by Damsel In Distress
They use emaciated models, because they don’t have any curves to get in the way. A lot of us women have a hard time finding clothes to fit our curves, like if a shirt is too tight over a big chest, if pants can fit over our hips, etc.

I’m assuming they make the outfits on the runway in all sizes. It’s just that the smallest size is used for “show”, just like how they put the smallest sizes on mannequins in clothing stores.

Answer by ricardoxantos
Supply and demand.

In theory the majority of women don’t buy into the fashion they will be forced to change or go bankrupt.
In practice, the majority of people will follow whatever the televisions tells them is the fashion.

Lets faced, people are like sheep and Mass propaganda almost always work. Mass propaganda works from the fact that people think that they must follow the heard in order to be successful. So in the case of fashion the majority will buy whatever they think the majority will see as cool, hot or whatever silly adjective is invented by the same mass media.

My advice to everyone, throw out the television and start thinking for yourselves. Otherwise, the media will continue to tell you what to think.

Answer by Philip N
short answer: no
the driving purpose of fashion is not to provide practical clothing, but to create unrealistic fantasies.
if fashion reverts to norm, then it would cease to exist.

Answer by Curtis Strangelove III
The power belongs to the people who buy the current fashions. Money talks and bravo sierra walks.

Since the fashion industry is influenced a lot by gay designers, you see many 5′11″ stick figures with short hair strutting down the catwalks of New York, Paris, and Milan. If average women had more of a say by speaking with their dollars, the catwalks would probably look more like a Lane Bryant catalog. If straight men were more dominant in fashion, the models would be 5′6″ and have more curves than a mountain road.

In short, try it and see.

Answer by Michael H
Woman have more of a fashion sense so yeah they probably would.

Question: What sort of fashion statement are women making who wear sweat pants as pants for the day?
I’ve discussed this with both a male and female coworker. Sweat pants worn while not on the way to/from or at a gym are a poor choice for clothing. Clint and Stacy say a woman has given up on fashion by wearing daily sweat pants.

BTW, sweat pants on a guy are a sloppy way to dress for the day.

The following is the answer:

Answer by hippiegirl
Sweat pants are awsome
don’t be so mean

Answer by RyanRRPSS
there vagina is sweating

Answer by valeriamilian
Not sure it’s a fashion statement. I just think a person who wears sweat pants on the street for any reason other than that they are actually working out/going to or returning from somewhere where they work out is a slouch.
People who go shopping in sweat pants particularly annoy me. Would it be so terrible to put some jeans on? It only takes a few seconds.
Going to work in sweat pants (unless you’re a coach or something similar): sign of insanity.

Answer by Wet Pants
Comfort is more important than impressing

or

She is kind of down on herself and doesn’t believe she’s worthy of putting her best foot forward because it wouldn’t be enough.

Answer by Blue-Eyed Christian
I don’t know. I think it’s a sign that they’ve given up and let themselves go. I get that when you have small kids, you can get messy and you just want to be comfy, but seriously, you can be comfy and wear sturdy clothes that wear well without resorting to sweatpants. It ain’t hard. Ditto with those huge stained t-shirts that are always worn with ‘em. Yikes.

I don’t even own one pair of sweatpants.

Answer by Winter Glory
It says that she likes being comfortable.
And that she’s not a slave to fashion.
Sweats should not be worn to work however..that’s just unprofessional.
But after you’ve clocked out for the day..I see no problem with it.

Answer by daboys12_15
Why are they a poor choice? It doesn’t fit with YOUR style? BS. I wear sweats all the time and couldn’t care less about fashion statements or any other statement.

Why is it sloppy? I’ll wear whatever I want.

Answer by Aurum
I know if my stomach hurts, or I’m PMSing, or even if I am having a mental health day I wear sweatpants and oversized t-shirts. It’s also accompanied with ice cream.

Me and all my friends that are girls agree that a girl needs a sweats and t-shirt day at least once a month.

Answer by Alma-Lodaka
i think theyre highlighting the fact that those people are bogan dickheads (especially in conjunction with ugg boots and/or a little dog in a handbag)

Answer by hope is the thing with feathers
That they want to be comfy.
I wonder if men who wear what’s comfy have likewise “given up on fashion”.
(How INSULTING!) xD

On the American eBay, you can filter the women’s dresses to just see casual or “day” dresses. Does that option exist on ebay.fr? If so, what’s it called? I don’t speak French.

“robes jour” literally means “day dress”, they have some nice day dresses.
Or just searching “robe” will come up with pages of options as well.

Question: What are some good fashion tips for thin women?
All the time I hear about what to wear to accentuate your curves or hide large thighs, but I rarely hear fashion tips for women who are naturally thin. I’m almost 17 years old, 5′5″, only 103 lbs (I have a fast metabolism and run cross country very competitively), am fairly leggy/gawky and have almost no boobs or butt. What styles of dresses, pants, skirts, shirts, shorts, etc. can I wear that will flatter me?

The following is the answer:

Answer by Viola P
for you a nice pencil skirt with a good button dress shirt, (skirt black, shirt white), or you can wear a dress that has the wrap around waist that ties in the back…this will take the focus off your height and will bring out your curves and breast. also, the darker the jean, the smaller the person will look, so you may want to try some faded jeans.

Answer by ♥
- light wash jeans
- straight leg or boot cut
- pants with designs on the back pockets
- flowy skirts or dresses
- bubble hem shirts
- trapeze or babydoll shirts

avoid:
- dark wash pants
- black ankle leggings
- baggy sweatpants (you’ll still look thin)
- super-tight skinny jeans
The following is the answer:

Answer by The Chair
The wardrobe dept are given a character outline for each character in the soap, they then have to buy in the right clothes. You would need to get your clothes in shops first, that should be your aim, making clothes for TV soaps isn’t really a career choice.

What do you think? Answer below!

Q&A: For halloween, I’m going to be a 80’s fashion girl? Can anyone help me pick out outfit for it?
The following is the answer:

Answer by movie994
go to google and type in 80s fashion clothes. or you could go to a local thrift store or goodwill

Answer by 37yr.oldcollegestudent
for hair you need to tease tease tease and spray with lots of hairspray and make it as big as possible. Big hair was all the rage in the 80’s. For clothes, go for the Madonna look. Here’s some good pictures of Madonna in the 80’s…
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.vintageblues.com/the80s/madonna3.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.angelfire.com/mac2/medecade/entertainment.html&h=400&w=237&sz=25&hl=en&start=1&tbnid=UXpSuqghd2LfgM:&tbnh=124&tbnw=73&prev=/images%3Fq%3DMadonna%2Bin%2Bthe%2B80%2527s%26gbv%3D2%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den

This one is not Madonna but is still representative to how she dressed
EDIT:Princess Love’s answer below, those are more 70’s style than 80’s. Trust me, we did not wear that stuff in the 80’s.

Answer by Amber W
Check out:

http://www.liketotally80s.com/.

You’ll see ideas there, and then I would advise shopping at costume stores, thrift stores, and the goodwill for the clothes. You can probably find a lot of the items on the internet too, you know by just typing them in on a search engine.

Don’t forget to have outrageous hair and colorful, bold makeup! And accessories! (-=

Sounds like a fun costume idea, so…have fun!
