Serve Dinner with Faith Mission’s Community Kitchen 5/31/12
Event on 2012-05-31 17:30:00
Join Columbus Gives Back to serve dinner to men, women, and children at Faith Mission's Community Kitchen on May 31. This promises to be a tremendously rewarding experience by allowing us to provide such an essential service to individuals and families in need.
Where: Faith Mission Community Kitchen, 151 N. 6th Street Columbus, OH 43215 (Google Map). Once you arrive, continue walking towards the back to the kitchen door & knock. Or, tell them at the front desk that you're volunteering in the Kitchen and they'll escort you back or point you in the right direction.
When: Thurs, May 31, 5:30 – 8 PM. Dinner is in two shifts (women/children at 5:30, men at 6:45) so late arrivals are fine — just let Caroline know to look out for you. The first shift starts serving AT 5:30pm so people who work downtown, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
What: We will be serving dinner, cafeteria style, to men, women, and families. Wear comfortable clothing, tie your hair back if necessary, and prepare to serve all your favorites: mashed potatoes, green beans, apple sauce, chicken/rice, or whatever else the chef whips up that day.
Event leader: Caroline at caroline@columbusgivesback.org and Joe M joe@columbusgivesback.org
Additional information: All volunteers at Faith Mission must wear CLOSED-TOED SHOES. Effective immediately, they will begin rescheduling with volunteers who arrive with sandals, flip flops, and other open shoes. This is for your safety.
Parking: There is a free parking lot on the corner of 6th and Long Street (enter parking lot from 6th St)
About Faith Mission Community Kitchen: Faith Mission offers three meals a day every day of the year to anyone who needs it. This is a tremendous community resource and Columbus Gives Back is proud to be a (small) part of it.
